The Baltecs BAE 250 is a coating device which is characterized by its very large recipient and the bottom-up arrangement of source and specimen. It´s equipped with a dual source thermal evaporation control and a quartz balance film thickness monitor. Additionally, it can be modified for electron beam evaporation. The Baltecs BAE 250 is used for preparation of thin amorphous carbon films for transmission electron microscopy and for heavy metal shadowing topographic TEM samples in order enhance image contrast.
