FEI Tecnai F20 Transmission Electron Microscope
The Tecnai F20 TEM is a very versatile Microscope which covers all of the requirements that emerge from the very sophisticated scientific environment of the MPI for Polymer Research. This instrument is equipped with a 200 kV field emission gun and the versatile “Twin-lens” configuration, which offers a balance between a sufficient resolving power and a good contrast formation in one machine.
Additionally, the Tecnai is equipped with comprehensive analytical devices and with a STEM generator. These configuration allows for a wide range of electron microscopical techniques such as Electron Energy Loss spectroscopy (EELS), Energy filtered TEM (EFTEM), scanning TEM (STEM) and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS or EDX).
Further, the instrument is capable for the acquisition of tomography series and for cryo-TEM.
