We are very happy to share that Mareike‘s PhD work is now out in Nanoscale Horizons! Check out our interesting findings about anti-PEG antibody prevalence in the German population and how much of these antibodies we find in the protein corona of PEGylated nanocarriers.

A bug's life: ant communication and waterproofing

PD Dr. Florian Menzel investigates the layer of cuticular hydrocarbons on ants, which helps them communicate and protects them from moisture. We are very happy to collaborate in this project! By measuring the melting ranges of the CHCs, we could find out that the CHC layers always consist of solid-liquid mixtures at ambient temperatures - similar to icecubes in a glass of water. more

New EU FET-OPEN project Ves4Us has launched

In the project Ves4Us that runs for a total of three years, scientists from Italy, Ireland, Switzerland and Slovenia are now working together with the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (MPI-P) in Mainz. The focus is put on extracellular vesicles from a natural source for tailor-made nanomaterials, where the team at MPI-P works mainly on the surface modification of the carriers. more
Starting the project LODE within EU JPND programme

In the project "Loss of neurotrophic factors in neurodegenerative dementias: Back to the crossroads of proteins" (LODE) researchers are focusing on understanding more about the disease developments and -especially at MPIP - developing nanocarrier devices for the transport of drugs into brain cells. Funding is provided via the EU joint programme - Neurodegenerative Disease Research for three years. more
Group Prize at Leibniz Young Polymer Scientist Forum
